Happy Birthday to former West Ham United, Brighton and Hove Albion, Aston Villa, Charlton Athletic and Birmingham City Midfielder Llewellyn Charles "Alan" Curbishley who turns 62 today. As a manager, Curbishley was in charge of Charlton between 1991 to 2006(Curbishley was joint manager of the club with Steve Gritt between 1995), steering, the Addicks to English top-flight promotion in 1998 and 2000. He is the longest serving manager in Charlton's history. He was manager of West Ham United was manager of West Ham between 2006 to 2008. Despite the club taking six points from their first three games of 2008/2009 season, he was unhappy with the club's transfer policy, after key players Anton Ferdinand and George McCartney were sold without his permission, a claim denied by the West Ham United board of directors. Curbishley resigned from his post on 3 September 2008. On 3 November 2009, Curbishley won his case for constructive dismissal against West Ham United. The Hammers paid him £2.2 million in compensation.
He also works as a football pundit.


In two spells with West Ham United(1998-2003, 2013-2014), he scored 18 goals in 187 games.

He spent seven years with Chelsea, netting 40 goals in 281 games and also winning 7 trophies.

He also played for Liverpool, Aston Villa, Lille(on loan), Coventry City and Tampa Bay Rowdies.

At international level, he scored 10 goals in 56 caps for England. He was selected for the England squad at the 2002, 2006 and 2010 World Cups and Euro 2004.

He retired from professional football on 13 November 2018. He has since taken up a coaching role at Chelsea.

Joseph John Cole is 38 today.


Happy Birthday to former Porto Preta, Rennes, São Paulo, Sevilla, Tianjin Quanjian and Vasco da Gama striker Luís Fabiano Clemente who turns 39 today. He spent six years with Sevilla, netting 107 goals in 229 games, also winning six titles which include two UEFA Cup titles(2006 and 2007). Fabiano scored 28 goals in 45 caps for Brazil between 2003 to 2013 and was a member of "Seleção" squad who won the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup with him also winning the tournament's top scorer(5 goals). Notably, Fabiano was ranked the second-highest-scoring Brazilian of the 21st century, according to the International Federation of Football History & Statistics.


He made 224 appearances for Celta Vigo between 1998 to 2008

At Barcelona, the goalkeeper made 90 appearances, winning 14 trophies between 2008 to 2014.

José Manuel Pinto Colorado is 44 today.
