In two spells at Manchester City, he scored 47 goals in 275 games, also winning two trophies during that time.


He spent three years with Chelsea where he won three trophies, including the 2005/2006 English Premier League title.


At international level, he scored 6 goals in 36 caps for England and was a member of the Three Lions squad who lost 4-1 to Germany in the 2010 FIFA World Cup Round of 16. 


Notably, him and his brother Bradley(New York Red Bulls all-time leading goalscorer) are the adopted sons of former England, Crystal Palace and Arsenal striker Ian Edward Wright. Wright adopted them from his then girlfriend Sharon Phillips.


He announced his retirement from football on 24 August 2019. This came five months after joining United Soccer League club Phoenix Rising FC.


Shaun Cameron Wright-Phillips is 38 today.
