He made his professional debut for Manchester United on 25 February 2016, netting twice in a 5-1 win over FC Midtjylland in the UEFA Europa League round of 32, second leg match. His goals made him Manchester United's youngest ever scorer in European competition, beating a record previously held by George Best before finally being broken by Mason Greenwood in the 2019–20 season. 

He made his Premier League debut against Arsenal on 28 February 2016; he again scored twice and provided the assist for the other goal in a 3–2 home victory, making him the third youngest scorer for United in Premier League history after Federico Macheda and Danny Welbeck

Aged just 18 years and 141 days, he became the youngest ever scorer in a Manchester derby in the Premier League era when he scored the only goal in a 1-0 win over Manchester City on 20 March 2016. 

On 6 September 2016, he scored a hat-trick for the England U-21 in a 6-1 rout of Norway. This was his first and only cap for the Young Lions(a nickname for England U-21 team) 

He made his senior international debut for England, netting in a 2-1 win over Australia on 27 May 2016. With this, he became the youngest Englishman to score on his international debut, and the third youngest overall. On 16 June 2016, he replaced Adam Lallana in the 73rd minute of England's 2–1 win over Wales at UEFA Euro 2016, making his tournament debut at the age of 18 years and 229 days, becoming the youngest ever player to represent England at the European Championships, breaking Wayne Rooney 's UEFA Euro 2004 record by four days. He has scored 8 goals in 38 caps for England

Happy Birthday to former Leeds United, Oldham Athletic, Manchester United and Wolverhampton Wanderers Defender Joseph Denis Irwin who turns 54 today. He was best known for his long and successful stint at Manchester United where he scored 33 goals in 529(18 as a substitute), making him the ninth player with the most appearances for the club. He scored 4 goals in 56 caps for Republic of Ireland, featuring in the side that reached the second round (last 16) at the 1994 FIFA World Cup. 


At the club level he played as a defensive midfielder for Internacional, Corinthians, Santos, Vasco da Gama, Pisa, Fiorentina, Pescara, VfB Stuttgart and Jubilo Iwata.

At youth level he was the captain of the Brazilian team who won the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 1983, beating continental rivals Argentina 1-0 in the final. 

Internationally, he played 91 times for Brazil, scoring six goals. Under his captaincy, Brazil won the 1994 FIFA World Cup and he lifted the World Cup trophy. Along with Xavi, Hernández he is one of only two men to have played in a World Cup final, an Olympic final, a Confederations Cup final and a continental championship final. 

He was head coach of Brazil twice. In his first spell from 2006 to 2010, he led them to victory in the 2007 Copa América and the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup, and to the quarter-finals of the 2010 FIFA World Cup , after which he was dismissed by the Brazilian Football Confederation. He was appointed in 2014 for a second time, but Brazil's early exit from the Copa América Centenario led to his dismissal in June 2016. 

 Carlos Caetano Bledorn Verri, commonly known "Dunga" is 56 today. 


Happy Birthday to former Ajax and AC Milan striker Marco van Basten who turns 65 today. At Ajax, he scored 152 goals in 172 games between 1981 to 1987, winning seven trophies as well. With Milan, Van Basten scored 125 goals in 201 games, winning 11 trophies, including two consecutive European Cup titles(1988/1989 and 1989/1990). At international level, he scored 24 goals in 58 caps for Netherlands, also winning the European Championship in 1988. Van Basten was named FIFA World Player of the Year in 1992 and won the Ballon d'Or three times, in 1988, 1989 and 1992. Regarded as one of the greatest players in the history of football, Van Baster played his last match in 1993 at age 28 due to an injury which forced his retirement two years later. He was later the head coach of Ajax and the Netherlands national team.


He spent 15 years of his club career with Real Madrid where he scored 77 goals in 529 games, also winning 15 trophies, including 3 Champions League titles.

With Besiktas, he scored 12 goals in 40 games.

At international level, he failed to appear in any major tournament for Spain, winning a total of 13 caps in approximately six years(1999-2005).

José María Gutiérrez Hernández, commonly known as "Guti" is 43 today. 


He made his first-team and La Liga debut, coming on as a late-game substitute for goalscorer Carles Pérez in a 5–2 home win over Real Betis. Aged 16 years and 298 days, he became the second-youngest player to debut for the club, only 18 days older than Vicenç Martínez in 1941. 

On 31 August 2019, he scored his first professional goal in a 2–2 away draw between Barcelona and Osasuna at the age of 16 years and 304 days, becoming the Barcelona senior team's youngest goalscorer ever and the third-youngest scorer in the history of La Liga. 

On 14 September 2019, in his first career start, he became the youngest player in the history of La Liga to score and assist in the same match, at the age of 16 years and 318 days. He scored in the 2nd minute and assisted Frenkie de Jong 's goal in the 7th minute of an eventual 5–2 home win against Valencia. 

On 17 September 2019, he made his
Champions League debut in a 0–0 away draw against Borussia Dortmund, becoming the youngest player to feature for Barcelona in the competition at the age of 16 years and 321 days, breaking the previous record held by Bojan Krkić (17 years and 22 days); he also became the third-youngest player ever to appear in the competition. 

He was granted Spanish citizenship on 20 September 2019, renouncing his Bissau-Guinean citizenship. He made his debut for the Spanish under-21 team on 15 October 2019 in a 2-0 win over Montenegro.

Anssumane Fati Vieira is 17 today.
