He is Liverpool's all-time leading goalscorer with 346 goals in 660 appearances(1980-1987 and 1988-1996), including a record 25 goals versus Merseyside derby rival
Everton. He also won a total of 18 trophies during his time with the Reds.

At international level, he scored 28 goals in 73 caps for Wales, making him the country's second highest goalscorer of all-time(behind Gareth Bale, 33 goals).

Since retiring as a player in 2000, he has had a stint as manager of Chester City (2004–05), and has worked as a television football pundit.

Ian James Rush is 58 today.
