ROONEY'S ARRIVAL

On This Day In 2002, 16-year-old England U-17 striker Wayne Mark Rooney came on as an 80th minute substitute for Tomasz Radzinski to score his first Premier League goal for Everton in a 2-1 win over Arsenal at Goodison Park. The result ended the Gunners' 30-match league unbeaten run. Rooney's 89th minute strike also made him the youngest goalscorer in Premier League history, a record that has since been surpassed twice, by James Milner and James Vaughan. In his first spell at Everton, Rooney scored 17 goals(15 in the league) in 77 games(67 in the league).
