Happy Birthday to former Real Madrid and Juventus striker Álvaro Borja Morata Martín who turns 27 today. In two spells with Real Madrid, Morata scored 31 goals in 95 games and was a member of Los Blancos side who won the UEFA Champions League in 2014 and 2017. In two years with Juventus, he scored 27 goals in 97 games, also playing and scoring in the 2015 Champions League final where the Old Lady lost 1-3 to Barcelona. In July 2017, Morata joined Chelsea for a then club-record fee of £58,000,000. Due to poor form and his inability to adapt to the English League system, Morata returned to Atlético Madrid after 12 years(he spent two years of his youth career with Atletico Madrid), joining the club on an 18-month loan deal. He would officially join the club on 1 July 2020. Morata is the fifth highest goal scorer for the Spain U-21s, netting 13 goals in 13 caps and was member of "La Rojita "(a nickname for Spain U-21) side who won the UEFA European Under-21 Championship in 2013. At the senior level, he has scored 16 goals in 31 caps for Spain.

 On this day in 2006, Arsenal's poor record at Bolton Wanderers continued as a brace from Nicolas Anelka helped consign them to defeat. Abdoulaye Faye headed Bolton ahead before team-mate Kevin Davies escaped a red card for pushing Emmanuel Eboue.
