CAPTAIN JT'S FIRST FUNCTION


On This Day In 1998, 18-year-old Defender John George Terry made his professional debut for Chelsea, coming on as an 86th minute substitute for Dan Petrescu in a 4-1 win over Aston Villa in the League Cup third round. He went on to become the most successful captain in Chelsea's history, having led the team for 13 years(he was Chelsea's captain from 2004 until his departure in 2017) and winning several titles. He is one of five players to have made over 500 appearances for Chelsea and is also the club's all-time highest scoring defender. He also has the third most appearances by a Chelsea player.
